Texas State Park Reservations: How To Make One

Texas State Parks are opened to the public but interested persons, groups or families that intend to visit any of the Texas state parks, need to make a reservation first.

The Texas state wants to be able to ensure that visitors are safe and protected well, during their time at the state parks, hence the need to make your reservations either via online or phone call.

How To Make A Reservation For Any Texas State Park.

To make a reservation for any Texas State Parks, the first step is to visit the Texas State Park website by clicking here.

Once there, you can enter your city, zip code or the name of the park or facility you want to visit but if you don’t know the name of the facility you intend, the system would make some recommendations for you.

You would then chose what you are interested in like Camping & Lodging, Tours & Tickets, Group Tickets & Day Use Sites, or Special Permits.

You then proceed to chose your intended arrival date to the Texas State Park you intend to visit to see the availability of the park for you.

You can chose whether the chosen date is Not flexible or flexible for 2 or 4 weeks.

The system will now do a search in the database and show you available parks on the chosen date for you.

If you don’t intend to make a reservation using the online option, you can as well call to make or cancel a reservation between Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

How To Make A Phone Call Reservation For A Texas State Park

If you want to make a reservation for Campsites, shelters, cabins and rooms (including those at Balmorhea) then the number is (512) 389-8900

If you are a group or an organised group and need to make reservations, then call (512) 389-8920 as some parks are taking group reservations.

Please note that, capacity may be reduced due to local Covid-19 restorations.

To make a reservation, you will need:

  • Email address
  • Home and work telephone numbers
  • Trailer or motor home lengths (if applicable)
  • Credit card for payment.
